IRIS HUMM PHOTOGRAPHER

The photographs of Iris Humm caught our eye on Instagram, and we became fascinated with the world they portray. It's a slow, easy, sophisticated world, full of deeply saturated colours, golden sunshine and dark shady corners.

It is an intimate world, full of details. The images don't contain clear heirarchies. There is a sense of intimate anarchy, a feeling of freedom even though the scale of most of the work is small.

Most powerful in the work is a consistent sense of home, despite the fact that the photos show many different urban and rural settings.

Iris Humm has worked for Zeit Magazin, FAZ Quarterly, Sight Unseen, and many other publications.

Her website is here, and there is a good profile of her here.
